Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Solarflare handles information in connection with our website, evaluation workflows, and proxy and VPN intelligence services.
Solarflare API helps customers evaluate whether IP addresses have recently been observed in proxy infrastructure. IP addresses can be personal data in some jurisdictions, so we handle customer-submitted IP data and operational records with care.
Who we are
Solarflare operates the Solarflare API website and service. You can contact us about privacy or data handling at [email protected].
If you use Solarflare under a separate customer agreement, that agreement may include additional privacy, security, and data processing terms.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as name, work email, company, job title, expected lookup volume, messages, and sample-data requests.
When you use the website or API, we may collect technical and operational data such as IP address, user agent, request metadata, timestamps, API usage, error events, and security logs.
If you submit IP addresses or related logs for evaluation, we process that data to provide the requested analysis and support the service.
Product intelligence data
Solarflare creates product intelligence by running controlled network measurements and recording proxy exit IP observations and related non-content metadata, such as observation time, provider context, network type, confidence, and freshness signals.
Product intelligence does not intentionally include names, email addresses, account credentials, payment data, message contents, or end-user attribution. Customers may receive API responses or exports containing observed IP intelligence under their agreement and the Acceptable Use Policy.
How we use information
We use information to respond to requests, provide sample analysis, operate and secure the API, provide product intelligence, monitor reliability, improve product quality, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell website contact information, demo-request details, or customer-submitted evaluation data. We do not use submitted samples to identify individuals, and we do not ask you to send secrets, passwords, tokens, or sensitive personal data.
Service providers and disclosure
We may share information with vendors that help us operate the website, email, analytics, infrastructure, logging, support, and security systems.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger, financing, or acquisition.
Retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, including service delivery, customer follow-up, security, compliance, backups, and dispute resolution.
Demo requests are kept for as long as needed to respond and manage the customer relationship. Evaluation data, product observations, and operational logs may be retained according to criteria such as signal freshness, support needs, security investigation needs, legal obligations, and auditability.
Legal bases for EEA and UK users
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.
Our legitimate interests include responding to business inquiries, operating a B2B API, preventing abuse, maintaining service reliability, and improving product quality in ways that are proportionate to the data involved.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and loss.
No system is perfectly secure. Please do not send credentials, API keys, raw secrets, or sensitive personal data through contact forms, sample requests, or support channels.
Your choices
You may request access, correction, deletion, export, restriction, or objection where applicable law gives you those rights.
To make a request, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
US state privacy rights
Where applicable US state privacy laws apply, residents may have rights to know, access, delete, correct, port, or opt out of certain uses of personal information.

International processing
Solarflare and its service providers may process information in countries other than where you are located. Those countries may have different data protection rules.
Where transfer rules apply, we will rely on an applicable transfer mechanism or another legally permitted approach.

Solarflare is a business service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website or service.
